Vanaf 17/19 februari starten we een nieuwe rubriek: ALBUM van de Week.
In dit item draaien we iedere week minimaal drie nummers van een album, dat op één of andere manier indruk op ons heeft gemaakt. 
Dit kan een splinternieuw album zijn, maar kan net zo goed een plaat zijn, die al jaren in de kast staat. 
Soms wil je gewoon meer dan één nummer van een plaat horen; vandaar.

Omdat we Cobblestones and Dusty Roads opnemen lopen we (bijna) altijd een week achter de actualiteiten aan.
Waar de noodzaak zich aandient om onmiddelijk op het nieuws aan te sluiten proberen we dat te doen.

TRAVELLING WITH THE BLUES

In het C+B museum in Grolloo kun je het hele jaar de expositie TRAVELLING WITH THE BLUES zien.
De reizen van de band in binnen- en buitenland komen in deze expositie voor het voetlicht in beeld en geluid. Via diverse geluidsfragmenten en een paar korte filmpjes volg je Harry Muskee en de band op de voet.
In COBBLESTONES AND DUSTY ROADS besteden we elke week, door middel van een nummer, aandacht aan deze expositie. Meer weten?

ZUMMERSE DINGEN

Wij doen weer een paar weken iets anders dan anders. Als of we de zomer in het hoofd hebben.

Tot de eerste uitzending van september doen we elke week in het tweede uur iets speciaals. We besteden aandacht aan een bepaalde stroming, aan een artiest of aan een bijzonder album. En elke week begint het tweede uur met een nummer van Creedence Clearwater Revival (John Fogerty). Over deze band hoeven we je niet meer te vertellen.  De mooie mix van blues, country en rock bepaalde de sound van deze band, die onder de bezielende leiding van John Fogerty tot één van de meest bepalende bands van de jaren 7o kan worden gezien.

Ook elke week in ons programma draaien we de hele zomerlang een nummer van de Asser formatie No ID Too.  Deze band onder aanvoering van Marcel Beuzel weet een sound neer te zetten, die mij een lekkere heimwee naar de jaren van Herman Brood en Gruppo Sportivo geven. Niet dat hun muziek daar van is afgeleid, maar met name de vrouwelijke vocalen en de koortjes wekken dat gevoel op. 
Hoewel niet direct passend in het Cobblestones-format vinden wij het fijn om in de zomer af en toe eens uit de band te springen. 
De band werd zo'n dertig jaar geleden opgericht en debuteerde met het album WHY. Inmiddels 11 albums verder is de band nu bezig aan een livealbum. Naast Marcel Beuzel bestaat de band tegenwoordig uit Johan Jasper ( toetsen, gitaar en zang)Inge Daalder (zang) Carl Faulhaber  ( drums) en Vincent (The Vince) Visser ( bas ) .Dat doen we graag met ook al hebben we geen enkel idee waar dat toe leidt.
